Goa, Oct. 6 -- Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has been appointed head coach of Delhi Capitals for the 2027 Indian Premier League season, marking his first stint as an IPL head coach.

Ganguly, one of Indian cricket's most prominent former captains, has been associated with the Delhi Capitals franchise since 2019. During his time with the organisation, he has held several senior positions, including Director of Cricket for both the men's and women's teams.

His elevation to head coach represents a new role for Ganguly within the franchise as Delhi prepare for the 2027 season. He will take over the coaching responsibilities after the team decided to part ways with Hemang Badani following two seasons in charge.
