Goa, May 11 -- The Singapore Police Force will establish a new specialised unit called the SPF Cyber Command in July to strengthen the country's fight against scams and cybercrime.
The announcement was made by Goh Pei Ming during an anti-scam conference on Monday. According to officials, the new command will initially consist of around 200 officers handling operations, investigations and intelligence gathering related to cyber threats and online fraud.
Authorities said the long-term goal is to expand the unit to more than 400 officers as its capabilities continue to grow alongside other police divisions.
