Goa, July 11 -- A senior citizen has alleged assault, criminal intimidation and verbal abuse in Betalbatim, prompting police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against two individuals.

The accused have been identified as Isidoreo Souza and Irene Gonzalves. Based on the complaint, police have booked both in connection with the alleged incident.

In addition to the relevant provisions of criminal law, the case has also been registered under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, which provides legal protection and welfare measures for senior citizens.

Police are investigating the allegations and have initiated further legal proceedings in the matter.
