Sankhali Family Recreates Historic Kedareshwar Temple of Harishchandragad for Ganesh Chaturthi
Sankhali, Sept. 18 -- A striking replica of the historic Shri Kedareshwar Temple at Harishchandragad in Maharashtra has become a major attraction at the residence of Navnath Malik in Sankhali-Harvalem during the seven-day Ganesh festival.
The unique festive display has been created with the aim of introducing devotees, particularly the younger generation, to the history, mythology and religious significance associated with the ancient temple.
One of the most intriguing legends associated with the Shri Kedareshwar cave concerns the four pillars surrounding the Shivling. According to religious belief, the four pillars represent the four Yugas - Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga.
