Sanguem Records Highest Rainfall in Goa as Canacona Leads Seasonal Monsoon Tally
Goa, July 20 -- Sanguem recorded the highest rainfall in Goa during the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Monday, receiving 55.1 mm of rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Goa. Despite rainfall being reported from most parts of the state, the IMD classified the southwest monsoon activity as weak.
Canacona was the second wettest location with 22.2 mm of rainfall, followed by Quepem (20.2 mm), Dharbandora (18 mm) and Sankhali (14.2 mm). Moderate rainfall was also recorded in Mapusa (10 mm), Margao (9.1 mm), Ponda (5.8 mm), Pernem (5.4 mm) and Ela (Old Goa) (5.3 mm).
Among the coastal stations, Dabolim received the least rainfall at 1.8 mm, while Mormugao and Panaji recorded 2.6 mm and 3 mm...
