Goa, May 15 -- Several residents from Sancoale who had appealed for SIR have reportedly received rejection replies stating that there was "no time for verification," triggering criticism from opposition leaders and local representatives.

Advocate Arish Kadar questioned the intentions of the government and criticised the response issued to the applicants. He demanded that the authorities provide a fair and proper explanation instead of what he termed an "absurd reply" citing lack of time for verification.

Kadar alleged that the handling of the matter has raised concerns among residents who were expecting a transparent and lawful process.
