Goa, April 13 -- In a significant political development, Sancoale Sarpanch Anusha Lamani and Deputy Sarpanch Derrick Vales have been ousted after seven out of eleven panch members proved their majority in a special meeting held on Monday.

The no-confidence motion was passed in the absence of Lamani and Vales, along with panch members Girish Pillai and Santosh Desai, who did not attend the meeting.

Following the outcome, the seven panch members have called for an early meeting to elect a new Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch to ensure the smooth functioning of the Sancoale Panchayat.
