Goa, June 6 -- A 59-year-old man lost his life in a freak accident at Saligao after a branch from a nearby tree reportedly fell on him during a tree-cutting operation. According to initial information, a dead coconut tree was being cut on private property when a section of it struck another tree. The impact allegedly caused a branch of the second tree to snap and fall on the victim, who was standing below. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed for medical treatment. Despite efforts by doctors, the man later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
