Ronaldo Apologises For Portugal Camp Walkout, Accuses Coach Of Breaking Promises
Goa, Oct. 7 -- Cristiano Ronaldo has apologised for walking out of the Portugal national team camp and said he is prepared to serve any suspension imposed on him. In a nearly 2,000-word statement, the 41-year-old forward accused Portugal coach Jorge Jesus of failing to keep his word over his playing time during the Nations League matches.
Ronaldo said Jesus initially proposed that he would start Portugal's opening and final home games during the international window, while not travelling for matches in Norway and Denmark. Ronaldo rejected the plan, saying it would set a poor example for the captain to remain in Portugal while his teammates travelled.
