Goa, June 12 -- The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) has taken suo motu cogni sance of a newspaper report published in O Heraldo dat ed June 10, 2026, titled 'Five, including minor, allege po lice brutality'. After examining the re port, the Commission is sued notices to the Super intendent of Police, South, Margao and the Police Inspector of Maina-Cur torim Police Station, seek ing detailed reports on the allegations.

The Commission has di rected both officials to sub mit their reports and appear in person or through their representative duly author ised before it at 10:30 am on June 17, 2026.
