Goa, June 19 -- Residents of Mainawada in Korgao have expressed serious concerns over the precarious condition of a cashew tree and a mango tree located close to electricity lines, warning that they pose a major safety hazard, especially during the ongoing monsoon season.

According to locals, the trees have become unstable after hill-cutting activities carried out on both sides of the road over the past six months allegedly damaged and exposed their roots, leaving them without adequate support. The mango tree, in particular, stands directly in front of an electricity pole and overhead power lines, raising fears that it could collapse during heavy rains and strong winds.
