Goa, Aug. 8 -- Indian content creator Renu Dhariyal has earned a place in the Guinness World Records after being recognised for having the longest hair on a living person (female).

Dhariyal's striking raven-black hair measures an astonishing 271.50 cm (8 ft 10 in) in length - just a fraction shorter than the recorded height of Robert Wadlow, the tallest person ever, who stood at 272 cm (8 ft 11.1 in).

Her record-breaking hair was officially verified in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, in April, allowing her to take the title from Ukraine's Aliia Nasyrova. Nasyrova's hair measured 257.33 cm (8 ft 5.3 in).
