Goa, May 25 -- A road accident involving a rent-a-cab and a fuel tanker was reported on the Canacona-Karwar Highway on Tuesday, causing damage to both vehicles and briefly disrupting traffic movement along the busy stretch.

According to sources, alcohol bottles were allegedly found inside the rent-a-cab following the collision, leading to suspicion that the driver may have been under the influence at the time of the accident.

However, officials have not yet confirmed whether alcohol consumption directly contributed to the crash.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the accident and ascertain further details.
