New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joined the parents of Uttarakhand murder victim Ankita Bhandari in a protest at India Gate lawns on Wednesday evening, opposing the appointment of Dushyant Kumar Gautam as Sikkim Governor over allegations linking his name to the case.

The protest comes amid renewed demands for a thorough investigation into the September 2022 murder of 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari, who worked as a receptionist at a resort near Rishikesh. Her parents have alleged that Gautam is the "VIP" referred to in the case, although he has not been named in any chargesheet.
