Goa, April 20 -- Tensions are rising in parts of Goa as multiple groups have announced protests and police complaints over alleged derogatory remarks made against St. Francis Xavier, popularly revered as Goencho Saib.

A citizens' group is scheduled to gather at the Margao Police Station at 11:30 am on Monday to file a formal complaint against Gautam Khattar, accusing him of insulting the saint and hurting religious sentiments. Organisers have described the alleged remarks as an attack on faith and identity, calling for unity and a strong response from the Goan community.
