Protest at Goa-Maharashtra Border Causes Highway Traffic Disruption
Goa, May 25 -- Traffic movement on the National Highway near Patradevi at the Goa-Maharashtra border was disrupted for nearly an hour after a group of protesters blocked the road on Sunday. According to sources, the protest was triggered by an alleged altercation between tourists from Sindhudurg and local residents in Mandrem, Goa.
The protesters reportedly approached the Mandrem Police Station to file a complaint, but claimed that the police refused to register their case. Angered by the alleged inaction, the group gathered at the Patradevi-Banda stretch and staged a road blockade, leading to temporary traffic congestion on the busy highway.
