Gurugram, Oct. 23 -- Normal life and industrial activities in Haryana's Gurugram, Faridabad and Nuh districts were disrupted following a power outage triggered by a strike by employees of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) on Thursday.

According to local residents, electricity supply in all three districts was disrupted from around 10 pm on Wednesday, plunging several areas into darkness. Within 12 hours of the strike, the power department received nearly 3,000 complaints related to the outage, an official told news agency PTI on condition of anonymity.

The DHBVN employees launched the strike to protest against the government's decision to privatise the power distribution system in Gurugram and Nuh.
