Goa, May 7 -- Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Arlekar on Thursday rejected TVK chief Vijay's second attempt to stake claim to form the government, asking him to return only after securing written support of 118 MLAs. Sources said Vijay met the Governor at Raj Bhavan with backing of 112 MLAs and orally claimed additional support from Congress, but the numbers were deemed insufficient. The Governor reportedly told him, "Please come with 118 signatures. Prove that TVK has majority and then the oath can happen," stressing the need for written proof to ensure stability.
