PoK protests enter 22nd day as demonstrators intensify opposition to Pakistan
Goa, June 30 -- Thousands of protesters gathered in Rawalakot in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Tuesday as demonstrations against Islamabad's control of the region entered their 22nd day. The protest, held at Eidgah Ground, saw speakers criticise Pakistan's governance and call for significant political change.
The agitation began over long-standing grievances, including allegations of poor governance, rising inflation, economic hardship and administrative neglect. Protesters have also accused Pakistani authorities of suppressing dissent. The region has reportedly been under an internet blackout since June 5, with communication services restricted as authorities attempt to curb the spread of information about the demonstrations.
