Passenger Alleges Phuket-Delhi Flight Pilot Was 'High' Before Sudden 300-Foot Drop
Goa, Aug. 12 -- A passenger aboard the Phuket-Delhi flight that suffered a sudden 300-foot loss of altitude last week has levelled serious allegations against the aircraft's captain, claiming the pilot appeared to be "high" before take-off.
The passenger further alleged that following the incident, the pilot asked passengers not to record the situation and reportedly told them that "baat ka batangad ban jayega", meaning that the matter would be unnecessarily exaggerated.
The incident involved flight AI-2379, which was carrying 137 passengers and eight crew members while travelling from Phuket to Delhi on August 4. The aircraft reportedly experienced a sudden loss of altitude of around 300 feet during the cruise phase of the flight.
