Goa, Aug. 4 -- Meta's apology for mistakenly removing a video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to be considered sufficient unless responsibility for the incident is fixed and appropriate legal action is taken, according to people familiar with the proceedings of a Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting on Information Technology.

The panel, chaired by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, questioned representatives of Meta, Google and YouTube, along with senior officials from the Union Home Ministry and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), on issues related to social media regulation.
