MARGAO, June 23 -- Residents and parents have raised concerns over worsening traffic congestion near the Comba railway gate in Margao, where several educational institutions located within a short stretch attract heavy vehicular movement during school hours.

According to locals, the presence of five to six schools and a law college within a 200-300 metre radius results in thousands of parents converging on the area daily to drop off and pick up students. The narrow roads, coupled with increasing traffic volume, have made commuting difficult and led to frequent bottlenecks.
