Goa, June 11 -- Panjim Police have arrested five persons in connection with the alleged kidnapping of two individuals at knifepoint, assaulting them, stealing their valuables, and extorting Rs.40,000.

The accused have been identified as Shoibh Baig of Taleigao, Akash of Bambolim, Javed Ballari and Zakiulla Khazi of Caranzalem, and Kalpesh of Ribandar.

According to police, the five allegedly abducted the victims at knifepoint before subjecting them to physical assault. The accused are also alleged to have robbed the victims of their valuables and extorted Rs.40,000 from them.
