India, March 2 -- The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has officially come into effect in Panaji from February 16, 2026, following the announcement of elections by the City of Panaji's Election Commission. The MCC aims to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections within the CCP jurisdiction. Under this directive, all political parties, candidates, campaigners, and the public must comply with strict rules: no public meetings, rallies, roadshows, padayatras, corner meetings, or vehicle rallies without prior written permission. Use of loudspeakers requires prior approval, and noise restrictions under the law must be observed.
