Goa, May 20 -- The recruitment drive for teachers in Goa's government primary schools has received an overwhelming response, with more than 2,000 candidates applying for 390 vacant posts across the state.

According to official reports, a total of 2,063 applications have been received, averaging nearly five applicants for each post.

Out of the total vacancies, 390 posts are for Marathi medium teachers. The recruitment process also saw strong interest for Konkani teaching positions, with 437 applications submitted for Konkani teacher posts, while Marathi teacher vacancies attracted 1,626 applications.
