Goa, April 25 -- Curchorem police arrested Dattaraj Desai after he allegedly blocked a road during protests over the release of the vehicle involved in a collision on Sunday, April 19, near Curchorem Ravindra Bhavan which led to the death of 18-year-old Jesval Diniz. Diniz succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital.

A resident of Cariamoddi, Cacora, Diniz was returning home after a night shift when the accident occurred between 5:15 am and 5:30 am. He was travelling from Ambedkar Circle towards Shivaji Chowk when he reportedly veered onto the wrong side and crashed into a truck.

Locals later staged a blockade on Friday, demanding accountability for the release of the vehicle involved in the fatal crash.
