Goa, Oct. 29 -- A team of officials led by Geologist Shyam Sawant, along with Junior Geologists Yadnesh Vazarkar and Amit Shetgaonkar and other officers, conducted a raid on Thursday at Naquerim in Quepem, where alleged illegal laterite stone quarrying was being carried out on Survey No. 81/0.During the operation, the team seized one machine and found that a large quantity of laterite stones had been extracted from the site. According to officials, the estimated value of the seized machinery and the damage caused by the alleged illegal quarrying activity is more than Rs.5 lakh. The land where the quarrying was allegedly taking place belongs to the Naquerim Comunidade
