Goa, Nov. 2 -- A private Learjet 60 crashed onto a busy roadway in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Sunday afternoon, killing all nine people on board.

The aircraft was travelling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it struck Military Trail shortly before 1 pm and burst into flames. The crash left a deep crater and scattered debris near homes and businesses. No injuries on the ground were immediately reported.

Air traffic control recordings indicate that the pilot reported ice accumulation and moderate turbulence before issuing a Mayday call and reporting an extremely rapid descent.

Authorities have not yet identified those killed or determined the cause of the crash. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
