PANJIM, April 25 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT), Pune, has upheld the directions of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) to demolish eight structures in Survey No. 119/3 at Morjim, Pernem, and to restore the land to its original condition.
The NGT dismissed the appeal filed by owner Dilip Morje of Tembwada, Morjim, stating that the appellant could not establish that the impugned structures existed prior to 1991. The demolition of eight structures, including a swimming pool, a commercial G+3 structure, a kitchen and a compound wall, has been ordered.
Morje had filed an appeal before the NGT seeking quashing of the order dated 16.01.2025 passed by the GCZMA, whereby directions were issued to demolish the structures situ...
