Goa, July 7 -- The Western Zone Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has dismissed an appeal filed by the Calangute Constituency Forum challenging the bund-strengthening and beautification project along the Candolim coastline.

The appeal had questioned the project stretching from Nerul Bridge to Caculo House in Candolim. However, the Tribunal upheld the approval granted by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), ruling that strengthening the bund is a legally permissible measure aimed at preventing coastal erosion and saline water intrusion.
