Goa, Aug. 13 -- N Chandrasekaran's decision not to seek reappointment as Tata Sons chairman has brought renewed attention to his nearly four-decade career with the Tata Group and the substantial remuneration he has received during his time at the top. His current term is scheduled to end on February 20, 2027.

Chandrasekaran first took charge of Tata Sons in 2017 after a long career at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he rose through the ranks to become chief executive. His tenure at Tata Sons has coincided with the group's expansion into areas including aviation, electric vehicles, semiconductors and manufacturing.
