Mopa Airport Toll Hike Draws Opposition From Taxi Drivers, Farmers
Goa, Aug. 8 -- The revised toll charges on the NH-66 link road connecting to Manohar International Airport, Mopa, have drawn criticism from local taxi operators, farmers and residents.
The new rates came into effect from August 10, with cars and other light motor vehicles charged Rs.45 for a single trip, compared with the earlier Rs.19.70. A 24-hour return journey now costs Rs.70, while eligible local residents can avail themselves of a monthly pass for Rs.360. North Goa-registered taxis have been given a separate rate of Rs.25 per trip.
