Mopa Airport Parking Fee Protest: Taxi Drivers Appear Before Pernem Court, Vow to Continue Fight
Goa, June 15 -- Taxi drivers, office bearers of various unions, and several political leaders who participated in the September protest against the hike in parking charges at Mopa Airport appeared before the Pernem Court on Monday in connection with a case registered following the agitation.
Addressing the media outside the court, representatives of the taxi drivers voiced their dissatisfaction with the government's approach, stating that the increase in parking fees has adversely affected the livelihood of local taxi operators. They maintained that the protest was organised in the interest of protecting their rights and safeguarding the welfare of the local taxi community.
