Mopa Airport Losses Cross Rs.777 Crore Since Launch
Goa, May 28 -- Goa's Manohar International Airport at Mopa has recorded cumulative losses of nearly Rs.777 crore since beginning operations, according to financial figures released by GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL). The airport posted losses of Rs.148.3 crore in 2022-23, Rs.363.3 crore in 2023-24, and Rs.266 crore in FY2024-25. Financial stress has continued into FY26, with GGIAL reporting a Rs.63.3 crore loss in the fourth quarter alone, pushing total FY26 losses to Rs.331.2 crore. The figures underline the ongoing financial challenges faced by the greenfield airport despite rising passenger traffic and operational expansion.
