Goa, April 19 -- Molcornem Village Panchayat's Gram Sabha on Sunday turned tense as residents vehemently opposed a proposed 89-plot development project threatening their serene community. Villagers bombarded officials with questions on the approval process, voicing fears over environmental damage, traffic congestion, and erosion of local character from large-scale construction.
Panchayat representatives clarified that Town and Country Planning (TCP) had granted necessary permissions, limiting their authority to halt or alter the project. Despite this, locals refused to back down, demanding the Secretary record their strong dissent through an official resolution passed during the meeting.
