MMC Spending Rs.14 Lakh Monthly to Transport Wet Waste to Cacora, Calls Grow for Permanent Solution
Goa, May 16 -- The Margao Municipal Council is reportedly spending nearly Rs.14 lakh every month on transporting wet waste to the waste treatment facility at Cacora, pushing the annual expenditure to approximately Rs.1.68 crore.
The escalating cost of waste transportation has emerged as a major concern for the civic body, which is now facing increasing pressure to develop a long-term and sustainable waste management solution for the city.
Sources said that substantial public funds have already been spent over the years on transporting wet waste from Margao to the treatment plant.
