Goa, Sept. 3 -- At least two people were killed and several others injured after a shooting at an apartment building in Minneapolis on Wednesday, officials said. The suspected shooter was also killed during an exchange of gunfire with police.

Minneapolis Police Interim Chief Bill Peterson said officers exchanged shots with the gunman as they entered the building to rescue residents and assist victims. Three police officers were injured, including two who suffered gunshot wounds.

Officials said the suspect, whose identity has not been released, was known to police. Peterson said authorities were familiar with the individual.
