Goa, May 27 -- The Merces Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court has acquitted prime accused Balashri Telgiri along with 15 co-accused in a 12-year-old criminal case involving allegations of rioting, unlawful assembly, assault, and outraging the modesty of a woman.

The court granted acquittal to all 16 accused after the complainant and the alleged victim informed the trial court that they no longer wished to pursue the matter further.

The case had remained pending for over a decade and involved charges related to unlawful gathering, physical assault, and alleged misconduct against a woman.
