Goa, Sept. 5 -- A 32-year-old Mercedes driver from Fatorda has been remanded to two days of police custody by a court in connection with the fatal accident at Sancoale. Police allege that the Mercedes rammed into a motorcycle and dragged it for a considerable distance before catching fire and being completely gutted. The motorcycle rider, 42-year-old Ashok Kumar Chavan, later succumbed to his injuries. The driver was arrested by Verna Police, who are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
