India, March 4 -- In a major development, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant categorically declared that the proposed mega casino will not be allowed in the Mandovi River. He made the statement while speaking to reporters outside Lok Bhavan on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister met a delegation of Ponjekar Against Casinos and assured them that the feared project - reportedly planned with a capacity of around 2,000 passengers - would not be permitted to operate in the river.
