Goa, May 12 -- The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Monday rejected reports claiming that India and the UAE were working on an evacuation plan for Indian workers through Fujairah port amid rising tensions in West Asia. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified that there was "no basis" for such claims and stressed that there is currently no plan to evacuate Indian nationals from either Fujairah or the UAE.
The clarification came after a media report suggested that India was coordinating with UAE authorities for a possible evacuation operation. Responding during an inter-ministerial briefing, Jaiswal urged people to refer to the MEA FactCheck account, which had already labelled the report as "fake news".
