Goa, April 16 -- The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has introduced a new annual contract system aimed at providing financial stability to domestic players who often miss out on Indian Premier League (IPL) contracts. The initiative is expected to begin from the 2026-27 season and is being seen as a progressive step for Mumbai cricket.

Under the new structure, players will be divided into three categories - Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C. Grade A players will earn between INR 12 lakh and INR 20 lakh per year. Grade B players will receive between INR 8 lakh and INR 12 lakh, while Grade C players will be paid around INR 8 lakh annually.
