Massive Fire Erupts at Haldia Petrochemicals Naphtha Pipeline in West Bengal, 15 Workers Injured
Goa, June 30 -- At least 15 people were injured after a major fire broke out in a naphtha-carrying pipeline at Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL) in West Bengal during the early hours of Tuesday.
The incident took place between 4:00 am and 5:00 am, when flames suddenly engulfed the pipeline, triggering panic within the industrial premises. The blaze, fuelled by the highly flammable naphtha, spread rapidly and left several workers with burn injuries.
Local residents, along with factory officials, rushed to the scene and launched rescue efforts. All the injured were shifted to the Haldia Sub-divisional Hospital for treatment. Hospital sources said that some of the victims remain in critical condition.
