Mapusa, Sept. 4 -- Mapusa Police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Karnataka for allegedly molesting a woman near a temple in the Canca area.

According to the complaint, the woman was walking near the temple on Thursday morning when the accused allegedly approached her from behind and attempted to grab her.

The woman raised an alarm, following which local residents rushed to the spot, apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the police.

The accused has been identified as Santosh, a native of Karnataka who is currently residing in Chandel.

Mapusa Police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are conducting further investigations into the incident.
