Goa, Aug. 3 -- A Mapusa resident was arrested by Margao Police after allegedly being found in possession of 4.17 kg of ganja valued at approximately Rs.5 lakh during a raid conducted in Navelim.

According to police, the contraband was seized during the operation, following which the accused was taken into custody under the relevant provisions of the law.

The accused was later produced before the court, which remanded him to five days of police custody to facilitate further investigation into the case.

Police are continuing their probe to ascertain the source of the narcotics and whether the accused has links to a larger drug trafficking network. Further investigation is underway.
