Goa, Sept. 26 -- The Mapusa JMFC Court has granted regular bail to Mapusa Municipal Councillor Tarak Manguesh Arolkar in connection with a forgery case registered by the Crime Branch.

The court directed Arolkar's release on furnishing a personal bond of Rs.25,000 and one surety for the same amount.

While granting bail, the court observed that continued detention was not warranted merely because certain articles or devices had not been recovered. It noted that the primary documentary evidence in the case was already in the possession of the investigating agency.

The court's order allows Arolkar to remain out on bail as the investigation and further legal proceedings in the forgery case continue.
