Goa, July 9 -- The Mapusa Court has extended the police custody of Akshata M.K., the prime accused in the alleged murder of Karnataka businessman Sandeep Salayam of Malpe, by five more days.

Akshata M.K. was produced before the court after the expiry of her earlier period of police custody. Following submissions by the investigating agency, the court granted an extension to facilitate further investigation into the case.

Sandeep Salayam, a businessman from Malpe in Karnataka, was allegedly murdered in a case that has drawn significant attention. Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the crime and gather additional evidence.
