Goa, June 3 -- A major accident was averted at the Sarmanas-Bicholim ferry wharf after a car reportedly plunged into the river on Tuesday.

According to sources, the incident occurred near the ferry landing point, triggering an immediate rescue and recovery operation. Personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services, assisted by local residents, responded swiftly to the situation.

Taking advantage of the low tide conditions, rescue teams successfully recovered the vehicle from the river before the situation could worsen. Authorities said no injuries were reported in the incident, and all occupants of the vehicle were safe.
