Goa, July 16 -- Speculation over a possible Cabinet reshuffle in Madhya Pradesh has gained momentum after Chief Minister Mohan Yadav withdrew the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development portfolio from Minister of State Lakhan Patel.

According to sources, the decision was taken late on Tuesday night, following which a Gazette notification was issued. The Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Department has now been placed directly under the charge of the Chief Minister.

Responding to the development, Lakhan Patel said that the allocation or withdrawal of ministerial portfolios is the sole prerogative of the Chief Minister. He declined to comment further and ended the call.
