Goa, July 17 -- The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 is back after a year's break, with the sixth edition beginning on July 17 and running until August 8, while August 9 has been kept as a reserve day for the final if required. Five teams will battle it out over 24 matches across 22 days, with defending champions Jaffna Kings opening the tournament against Galle Gallants at Colombo's SSC Cricket Ground.

The tournament follows a double round-robin format during the league stage, where each team plays every other side twice. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs before the grand final in Colombo.
